    Joseph Brunjes is a Wilmington, NC native who is pursuing a Masters in Music in Conducting at Bard College Conservatory in Annandale-on-Hudson, NY.  Before entering the program he was the violinist of the Atlantean Trio, a member of the Long Bay Symphony, and founder and conductor of the Oleander Chamber Orchestra.  He served on the string faculty of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington from 2004-2008.  From the North Carolina School of the Arts, he earned a BM in violin performance and two Master of Music degrees, one in violin performance and the other in conducting.  He also holds a Graduate Professional Diploma in conducting from the Hartt School.  Mr. Brunjes was a conducting fellow at conducting workshops in Connecticut, New York and Bulgaria and has studied with renowned teachers including Harold Farberman, Daniel Lewis, Kenneth Keisler and Larry Rachleff.  Joseph made his professional debut with the Pleven Philharmonic in Pleven, Bulgaria in 2000 and since then has been active as a guest conductor of various ensembles throughout North Carolina, Connecticut and New York.

    An accomplished violinist, Mr. Brunjes served as violinist of the Atlantean Trio from 2005-2011, performing throughout North and South Carolina.  He plays a violin by the Dutch master, Johannes Cuypers, 1807.

    Joseph’s photographs have been published in Modern Arabian, Piano Technicians Journal and Miniature Donkey Talk. Online publications include Lenscratch, F-Stop Magazine, File Magazine, and the Lensbaby Archive of Awesomeness.  Since 2009 Joseph has tested new products for Lensbaby.  One of his lensbaby photos was chosen for a label for the Jones Soda Co. in December of 2010.
